Neptune Plumbing Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager coordinates the dispatching, delivery and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies amongst warehouse suppliers and job sites. Oversees tools and supplies by receiving, storing, renting and delivering items. Ensures the efficient receipt and storage of a wide variety of products to make sure the warehouse is functional. Maintains warehouse processes to secure deliveries are running smoothly and promptly to guarantee timely and accurate deliveries.

This position is responsible for assisting and training all warehouse associates and drivers, and is vital to the proper functioning of our company. Established in 1957, Neptune Plumbing is a commercial plumbing provider serving commercial, industrial and institutional clients throughout Northeast Ohio. Neptune is family owned and a market leader offering a full suite of service offerings including 24 hour emergency repairs, flexible maintenance agreements to capital planning and facility renovations in both the public and private sector.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Adhering to purchasing and warehouse policies, processes and procedures
  • Overseeing receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
  • Ensuring efficient warehouse space utilization and layout
  • Ordering material, creating Purchase Orders and coordinating delivery of materials
  • Ensuring tools are received by the field in a timely manner
  • Resolving daily material backorders in a timely manner
  • Managing tool asset management tracking software
  • Ordering and tracking both rental as well as company owned equipment
  • Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
  • Maintaining standards of safety and security
  • Ensuring warehouse is organized and cleaned
  • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of condition and location of company tools, equipment and vehicles
  • Overseeing maintenance and cleanliness of all warehouse/construction vehicles
  • Utilizing GPS software to both efficiently set delivery routes as well as for scheduled maintenance
  • Possessing the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Managing Service/Construction returns for credit
  • Interacting effectively with coworkers, management and vendors in order to resolve problems
  • Overseeing warehouse associates and delivery drivers

Other Functions:

  • Attending weekly meetings with the Purchasing Manager
  • Coordinating and implementing with direction from Purchasing Manager to accomplish strategies and resolve problems and issues with purchased items or warehouse associates and driver
  • Addressing and reporting active purchase errors in a timely manner
  • Other tasks assigned by management

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Plumbing knowledge a plus
  • Ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment necessary
  • Ability to lift or move heavy products
  • Ability to work both independently or within a team
  • Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication

Compensation and Benefits:

  • From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Onsite, not remote
